Nancy & Mark have lived in this home for 37 years,
but of course the home has evolved over those years with multiple additions. The
house that started off as a weekend home on Lake Michigan in 1972 became their permanent
home when they moved from Glenview, IL in 1976 and made it the family home...raising four
children. Their dream has been to share this beautiful environment with friends and
guests, and now with the B&B, their hope is that guests will enjoy the property as if they
lived on Waverland Path. Now with their new business of a “Bed & Breakfast” their dream
has come true.
As you drive in the road, you are surrounded
by a State Park, with dunes, wildlife and beautiful homes in a very private exclusive bit of
heaven. It’s almost like you’re transformed as you drive in the one mile single lane path...you’ll
find the B&B at the end of the road. Even if you only travel from St. Joseph, Mi. you’ll
feel like you’re deep in the back woods of the north!
Upon your arrival you may be greeted by the
couple’s family dog, Heidi, the “Old English Sheep Dog”, she may try to herd you in (or lead
your car in) and she may bark, but is sooooo very friendly. In the early spring Heidi does
get her summer cut, so she may not look like the typical Old English, because she loves
being outside and the heat is too much with all the hair. Heidi has never met a stick (tree
limb) she doesn’t enjoy collecting (by the front door).
Nancy & Mark look forward to making your
stay special and one that will make you want to return again and again! You’ll be greeted with a
cold drink and special munchies upon your arrival. Wonderful gourmet breakfasts will start
your memorable stay – after a great night’s sleep.
There’s no reason not to make a date to stay
at this one of kind B&B, on a ten acre family compound with a magnificent “private” Lake
Michigan beach! Their motto is “come as a stranger, leave as a friend”, they're ready to welcome
you home.
